Volkswagen's 2015 e-Golf battery-electric compact car now rates at the most fuel efficient compact EV after the Environmental Protection Agency released fuel economy data for the automaker's for U.S. EV.
The e-Golf is expected to deliver miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent (MPGe) of 126 in the city, 105 on the highway, and 116 combined, according to FuelEconomy.gov. The vehicle has a range of up to 83 miles. The e-Golf will arrive with an electric motor that produces 115 hp and 199 lb.-ft. of torque paired with a one-speed transmission. The motor is powered by a 24.2-killowatt lithium-ion battery.
