Nigerian Vice-Presidential Candidate Yemi Osinbajo assured Nigerians that, if elected, the Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari-led government will slash tariffs on imported vehicles, according to a report in Punch.

Osibajo, a candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that tariffs for old and new cars should be lowered because the country does not produce cars at the moment. He also promised encouragement of local car production, according to the report.

He said that Nigerians should not find it difficult to purchase cars for their social and economic activities and that the APC government would ensure lower tariffs when voted into power, according to the report.
