Mercedes-Benz will begin offering two new variants of its full-size Sprinter van for the 2015 model year, including a super high roof model and a Super Single heavy duty model.

The 2015 Sprinter's third roof height expands existing models, which offer interior standing heights of 63.2 and 76.4 inches. The third roof height offers 84 inches (7 feet) inside the cargo compartment.

Mercedes-Benz is offering the Super Single heavy duty model as an alternative to the Sprinter 3500 with dual rear wheels. The Super Single model provides 48.3 inches of loading width between the wheels. The standard North American pallet measures 48-by-40 inches.

The expansion of Sprinter configurations follows earlier announcements from Mercedes-Benz that it would introduce a 4x4 Sprinter for the 2015-MY and offer its Crosswind Assist safety option as standard equipment. The Sprinter will offer an optional four-cylinder diesel certified as a SULEV (super ultra-low emission vehicle).

Mercedes-Benz is also increasing the service interval times for the Sprinter to up to 20,000 miles from the 15,000 miles on the 2014-MY van. The new options would also be available on Freightliner Sprinters.
