Subaru unveiled its 2019 Ascent three-row SUV ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show as a live-stream reveal during AutoMobility LA on Nov. 28.

The all-new mid-size SUV is available with a bench or captain’s chairs in the second row — offering seven- or eight-passenger configurations.

It is powered by a new turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine that produces 260 horsepower (hp). This powertrain allows up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity. It comes standard with a new version of Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT and symmetrical all-wheel-drive system.

The Ascent has a 113.8-inch wheelbase. With an overall length of 198.8 inches, it features 153.5 cubic feet of passenger volume and up to 72.6 cubic feet of cargo space.

The Ascent comes standard with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which includes automatic pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning, pre-collision throttle management, and new EyeSight Assist Monitor that provides a heads-up display of system warnings on the vehicle’s windshield.

Arriving at retailers in early summer 2018, the Ascent will be available in base, Premium, Limited, and Touring trim lines. The Ascent will be built in Subaru’s Indiana plant along with the Outback, Legacy, and Impreza.
