Chevin Fleet Solutions has added battery-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles into its fleet in an effort to reduce emissions and costs.

Chevin's 10 vehicle fleet now includes a Tesla Model S, Mercedes-Benz PHEV, Hyundai PHEV and Volkswagen Golf EV and PHEV models, according to Chevin. The company also made additional greening investments via the installation of solar panels on the roof of Chevin’s UK head office in an effort to generate fuel to power the electric vehicles.

“We found that since switching part of our fleet to electric and hybrid vehicles, our running costs are now much lower as we do our bit for the planet through reduced emissions,” said Ashley Sowerby, managing director for Chevin.

Chevin, which provides fleet management software, also plans on installing additional charge points for these vehicles.
