Nissan Motor Co. will reduce production of its NV cargo and passenger vans, as well as for its Titan and Frontier pickup trucks, at its assembly plant in Canton, Miss., reports the Clarion Ledger.

The company will reduce NV production to one shift from two and pickup production to two shifts from three, a Nissan spokesman told the local media outlet. The van shift will end Jan. 25, while the truck shift will end Feb. 22.

The moves would eliminate up to 700 contract workers.

In 2018, Nissan saw a 6.6% decline to 1.34 million vehicles. Titan sales fell 4.7% to 50,459, while Frontier sales increased 7.1% to 79,646, according to the automaker's reports. Nissan NV sales fell 5.4% to 16,902.
