Fleet FAQ? Fleet Management & Leasing

Q. Which is more optimal: short lifecycles or longer lifecycles?

A. Ultimately there is no one “right” answer when it comes to managing vehicle lifecycles. Determining which lifecycle strategy makes sense for your fleet involves understanding and even anticipating the types of maintenance that will be required at different stages of the vehicle’s life. For example, the tradeoff for fleets who leverage a longer lifecycle in order to reduce or even eliminate lease payments will be more costs related to non-preventative maintenance. Meanwhile, fleets that utilize shorter lifecycles will have more predictable maintenance cycles due to the predominantly preventative nature of their repairs, but they retain a regular lease payment.
