With nearly 444,000 Chrysler PT Cruiser vehicles sold worldwide from February 2000 through July 2002, the popularity of the Chrysler PT Cruiser has been established. And now, the possible next generation of the vehicle that revolutionized and redefined the small vehicle market is being unveiled. Chrysler is introducing the all-new California Cruiser concept car at the 2002 Paris Motor Show. The concept car builds on the style and practicality seen in the PT Cruiser, with more crisp and precise styling than the current PT Cruiser themes seen in cars like the Chrysler Crossfire and Pacifica. The California Cruiser is a two-door vehicle with a rear hatch and multi-functional interior. It features scalloped headlamps, a chrome-accented grille and an integrated bumper. The original PT Cruiser Concept car was revealed at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 1999. The production version of the car was revealed just a few minutes later. The current generation PT Cruiser will be available in a Convertible version next year, according to DaimlerChrysler.
