Land Rover has introduced its three-door Freelander with a sporty model called the SE3. The new model has twin removable sunroof panels above the driver and passenger and a detachable rear hardback, adding open-air motoring. The SE3 will be available in December at $26,995 MSRP including destination and delivery. Items unique to the three-door include the black composite A-frame brush bar and silver underbody brush plate, 17-inch ‘Triple Sport Evolution’ alloy wheels and new paint colours such as Borrego Yellow and Tangiers Orange. Inside, there are black ‘Technical Fabric’ seats and a 240-watt, 9-speaker harman/kardon sound system with single in-dash CD player. Standard equipment includes roof rails, air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, power steering, heated front windscreen, side view mirrors and rear window. The interior seats five with a 60/40 split rear bench rather than the individual seats offered as an alternative in some other markets. There is 46.6 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. The SE3 has the same 24-valve, 174hp V6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission as the five-door models.
