DriveCam Video Systems, a developer
of fleet safety technology, announced Alan Mann has joined the company
as vice president of sales. Mann will be responsible for managing DriveCam's
direct sales team, including national accounts and distributor relationships,
throughout the U.S.
Mann has more than 20 years experience in high technology sales management
with such companies as Data General, Sun Microsystems, Entegrity Solutions,
Moai Technologies, and, most recently, as founder of Sales Elevation,
a sales process consulting company.
"DriveCam offers a unique solution to address the rapidly escalating costs
of protecting and operating a fleet of vehicles," said Mann. "I am looking
forward to working closely with the DriveCam sales team and personally
with customers to assist them in gaining the full benefits of DriveCam's
fleet safety program."
DriveCam's complete fleet safety program includes the Driving Feedback
System that integrates video technology and management software to identify
high-risk driving habits. Unusual driving events are collected by a palm-sized
video recorder mounted behind the rearview mirror that records what drivers
see and hear. Video files can be automatically downloaded to a computer,
where specialized software allows managers to view and analyze driving
performance. Videos can also be emailed directly to insurance carriers
to settle claims. By changing driving behavior, the Driving Feedback System
has reduced the frequency and severity of collisions by 35 percent to 70 percent, the company says.
"As we continue to strengthen our sales organization, I am delighted to
have an executive of the caliber and the breadth of experience that Alan
Mann adds to our team," said Ed Andrew, DriveCam president. "Alan's proven
sales leadership skills will be an asset as we broaden our sales efforts
and work with larger fleets to improve driving safety."
Mann received a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA from the University
