Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of GM Fleet, released a video discussing General Motors’ efforts to fight against COVID-19 and ways the company is supporting its customers, dealers, and other essential workers.

In the video, Peper details the efforts of the GM Fleet Action Center, who are still actively supporting customers amid the pandemic, and the expansion of the GM First Responder Discount program for customers to also include eligible healthcare professionals.

"During this critical time, we have a special focus on first responders, healthcare professionals, and others in critical roles supporting the COVID-19 efforts," Peper said in the video. "GM Fleet stands ready to support these heroes with their vehicle needs, whether it is with assisting in securing a new vehicle or servicing their existing one."

Peper also addresses GM's collaboration with Ventec Life Systems to develop critical care ventilators, and the automaker's efforts to produce masks for essential workers. GM is also providing $2.6 million in grant funding to nonprofits across the country to help address increasing critical needs.
