Sales of General Motors ' vehicles have so far been "solid" and above industry averages for the month of November, a company executive reportedly said on Nov. 21. GM's director for market and industry analysis, Paul Ballew, told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview that the month won't be one for the record books, but that the company is encouraged by recent trends. He reportedly declined to disclose any specific figures, the report added. Sales of GM's trucks and within the Cadillac brand have so far been the strengths for the month, Ballew told Dow Jones, adding that GM's monthly results should be helped by a weaker November last year. He also reportedly said that pricing and incentives haven't changed much compared with October and that "it's still a competitive pricing" environment. The company is hopeful for continued signs of strengthening in the economy, Ballew told Dow Jones. The news agency noted that GM earlier this month said its October sales of new cars and trucks were down 7 percent compared with the same period last year - including sales of trucks, which were down 8 percent.
