The U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has posted New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) crash results for all model year 2004 pickups on the agency's World Wide Web site: www.safercar.gov. The redesigned Ford F-150 is the only 2004 pickup to earn the government's top rating of five stars for both the driver and right front passenger in the frontal crash. New 2004 frontal impact ratings for pickups and four-door vehicles are provided for the Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab 4x2 four-door pickup, Ford F-150 4x2 regular cab pickup, Ford F-150 4x4 regular cab pickup, Ford F-150 Super Crew 4x2 four-door pickup, Ford F-150 Super Crew 4x4 four-door pickup, Ford F-150 Supercab 4x2 extended cab pickup, Ford F-150 Supercab 4x4 extended cab pickup, and the GMC Canyon Crew Cab 4x2 four-door pickup. New 2004 side impact ratings for pickups are provided for the Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab 4x2 four-door pickup and GMC Canyon Crew Cab 4x2 four-door pickup. Results from previously tested 2004 pickups also are available at www.safercar.gov. Additionally, other posted scores are for the Nissan Quest van. This vehicle earned the top rating of five stars for side impact. On Jan. 6, the Nissan Quest received five stars for both the driver and right front passenger in the frontal crash.
