The Dodge Charger is coming back for 2006. The legendary Sixties muscle car will be built on the Chrysler 300 platform. It will be styled after the original but will not be retro, reported Automotive News this week. The Chrysler group unveiled the new Charger and two other new vehicles during an analyst’s meeting last week in Detroit. The other vehicles are the large Jeep Commander built on the Grand Cherokee platform due next year, and a new C-segment Sebring sedan developed with Mitsubishi for 2006. The unveiling came after good news for DaimlerChrysler. Analysts reported that the automaker’s stock fared better than other automakers’ shares. In a note to clients, analysts claimed that “fundamentals of the Chrysler division are turning the corner despite the continued challenges in the U.S. light-vehicle market,” Reuters reported.
