U.S. federal safety regulators said on Thursday that General Motors is recalling nearly 200,000 of its Buick cars to equip them with new low beam headlamp bulbs, Reuters reported. The recall affects 199,793 Buick Century and Regal sedans from the 1999 model year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the recall was necessary because reduced illumination from their headlights could prevent drivers from reading overhead road signs when driving at night. GM has been hit with more recalls this year than in all of 2003.
