Automobile Magazine has named the winners of its 2006 All-Star Awards, which are chosen each year by the editors of the magazine who test, evaluate and debate the performance, significance and contributions of the vehicles and executives who have impacted the automotive industry the most. The 2006 top industry honors were: -- Automobile of the Year: BMW 3-Series -- Design of the Year: Pontiac Solstice -- Man of the Year: Wendelin Wiedeking, Chairman, Porsche AG -- Technology of the Year: BMW Magnesium-Clad 3.0-Liter N52 Engine The 2006 All-Stars chosen by the Automobile Magazine staff, bureau chiefs and contributors following a 1000-mile test drive, round-table discussion and vote, were: -- BMW M5 -- Chevrolet Corvette Z06 -- Mini Cooper -- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution -- Porsche Boxster -- Subaru Legacy All the winners of this year’s awards will be featured in the January issue of the magazine.
