DETROIT -- The Chrysler Imperial large sedan concept was named best of show in the second annual Detroit News/Local 4 Driver's Choice Awards.
The winners were chosen by a 100-member Detroit News reader panel after spending three hours touring the 2006 North American International Auto Show last week.
The awards were announced at a Detroit Economic Club luncheon by William Dean Singleton, vice chairman and CEO of MediaNews Group, which owns The Detroit News.
Other categories and winners were:
Most Plush Interior: Maybach 57, the ultra-luxury sedan from DaimlerChrysler's Mercedes-Benz
Curviest: Ford Shelby GT
Most Awesome: Hummer H1
Future Fantasy: Chevy Camaro
Sexiest: Jaguar XK
Most Innovative: Mercedes S500 sedan
Best Value: Toyota Camry sedan
Grooviest Wheels: Toyota Scion xB
Best Family Hauler: Chrysler Town and Country minivan
Most Earth Friendly: Ford Escape Hybrid SUV
Most Luxurious: Rolls-Royce Phantom
The readers were chosen from about 1,000 applicants from five counties in Metro Detroit.
