The average wholesale price of used vehicles surpassed $10,000 in February for the first time since May 2002, Automotive News reports. ADESA Analytical Services says the average price of $10,094 was 6.9 percent higher than February 2005 and 2.6 percent higher than January 2006. Every segment showed an increase in average wholesale prices compared with February 2005, except large SUVs, which sold at auction for 3.9 percent below the year-ago average price. However, large SUV sales were 4.0 percent higher than in January 2006.
