A new survey in England has found that one in six employees have driven to work while under the influence of alcohol, Companydriver.co.uk.com reports. The survey, by insurance company Royal & Sun-Alliance and YouGov, quizzed full-time employees and company bosses in England. Though England now allows bars to stay open round the clock, the report found that the problem of “morning-after drinking” has not worsened. However, the report finds there is an ongoing ‘cultural problem’ of people drinking alcohol during the working day. Research shows that 20 percent to 25 percent of accidents in the workplace in the UK were caused by alcohol. Companydriver.co.uk reports that 91 percent of the companies have an alcohol policy, but that still leaves 14,000 employers at risk.
