General Motors will drop the Chevy TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy mid-sized SUVs by 2010, Automotive News reports. Ford will discontinue the Mercury Monterey minivan this year. The Ford Freestar minivan twin will be dropped at a later date, the report said. AN reports that GM will replace those vehicles with crossovers on the Lambda architecture. The Saturn Outlook crossover arrives this year while the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave crossovers are scheduled for next year. Chevy will get a crossover in the 2010 model year, AN reports. Ford will end production of the Monterey in August, with the Freestar following at a later unspecified date. The minivan replacement will be a car-based vehicle from both Ford and Lincoln and available in 2008. The Ford version is based on the Fairlane concept shown at the 2005 Detroit auto show, AN reports.
