The compact vehicle segment is only four months away from a two-year sweep in Auto Remarketing's year-over-year comparison of the Power Information Network's retained value measurement. Leading the eight super segments by 3 percentage points, the compact segment (8.9 percent) distanced itself from the midsize segment (5.1 percent) to lead for the 20th consecutive month. Other segments placed as follows:
  • sports cars (3.7 percent increase in retained value)
  • full-size units (2.6 percent)
  • luxury vehicles (1.2 percent)
  • SUVs (1.0 percent)
  • vans (negative 0.7 percent)
  • pickups (negative 1.1 percent) Compacts (no change) also led the days-to-turn segment, displacing sports cars for the top spot, according to Auto Remarketing.
