ATLANTA - UPS has extended its contract with Ford Motor Company to continue providing logistics services for the delivery of new cars to dealers, according to the delivery company.

Through this contract, UPS assists in the management of Ford Motor Company's North American outbound finished vehicle distribution network, shipping the automaker's finished vehicles from assembly plants to dealerships in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

"UPS has been working with Ford since 2000 and has provided improved transit times while lowering logistics costs," said Paul Hargadon, general manager of UPS' Automotive Industry Solutions Group.

As part of the agreement, UPS provides on-site operations management at key Ford distribution points; carrier management; transportation network oversight, and contingency support.
