NexTraq, a GPS fleet tracking and vehicle management solutions company, said in company press releases that by combining the NexTraq Fleet Tracking platform with its Fleet Dispatch application, several small businesses have been able to respond quickly to service calls, reduce their payroll costs and increase billing accuracy.

Frank Steinocher, CIO of HVAC-company Shumate Mechanical, said, “We have increased service revenue by 9% since using NexTraq GPS technology. Additionally, payroll expenses have decreased by 12% with accurate labor costs.”

By automating processes with GPS fleet tracking technologies, HVAC service businesses can handle high-volume call days by using the NexTraq Fleet Dispatch application in combination with Garmin in-vehicle devices. Besides improving driver safety by eliminating handheld cellphone calls to the office, the NexTraq platform also increases driver productivity.

One HVAC company with a fleet of 64 vehicles was able to increase driver productivity by 13%. Jeffrey Allison, IT Administrator  of Estes Heating & Air Conditioning, said, “Drivers are able to take care of our customers more efficiently, often taking another service call not on their daily schedule. The benefits are two-fold: we help more customers and the technicians get home faster at the end of the day.”

Critical Power Solutions, a preventive maintenance service company with four vehicles in fleet, was able to recover 15% of its revenue utilizing the NexTraq Fleet Tracking and Fleet Dispatch applications. Jason Madler, owner of Critical Power Solutions, said that one of the biggest benefits was the ability to bill clients down to the minute.

Madler said, “Before implementing the NexTraq solution, I estimated that we were losing 15% of revenue due to inaccurate billing.” So, he created arrival and departure alerts for 200 job sites, allowing him to review the data in the system and report to his client the exact time spent on the job. Madler adds, “It is also helpful with job validation as we could prove technicians were at a site when they were supposed to be.”

In the annual NexTraq customer satisfaction survey, 68% of respondents cited driver behavior modification as the No. 1 benefit of their fleet tracking implementation. Additionally, 60% of customers cited increased fleet productivity with increased driver safety rounding out the top benefits.
