Subscribers to General Motors Corp.'s OnStar in-vehicle communications service may soon be able to hear financial news from The Wall Street Journal's online edition, under a partnership announced April 24. Beginning in May, users of OnStar's Virtual Advisor service will be able to access the Journal's online audio news through OnStar's hands-free, voice-activated Advisor service, according to a company announcement. Available content from the Wall Street Journal Online will include a review of the market's top headlines and hourly business updates, among other offerings complementing OnStar's existing alliance with Fidelity Investments. In February, GM and Fidelity agreed to provide in-vehicle stock quotes and financial information through Virtual Advisor. Plans call for that service to eventually be expanded to let Fidelity clients retrieve account balances and do in-vehicle wireless trading.
