National Truck Leasing System (NationaLease) recently announced the winners of its 2001 Exceptional Service Awards. The Exceptional Service Award is an annual award given to nine different affiliates in three criteria: service and staff quality; efficiency in time and communication; and responsiveness and quality of service to other NationaLease affiliates. The following NationaLease affiliates are winners of this year's Exceptional Service Award: In the smaller division (for affiliates maintaining up to 150 vehicles), the first place winner is Schaefer NationaLease of Indianapolis, Ind. Schaefer won second place in its division in 2000, making the company a two-time winner of the Exceptional Service Award. The second place winner is C&W NationaLease, Abilene, Texas, and the third place winner is Hornoi NationaLease, Regina, Saskatchewan. In the medium-size division (for affiliates maintaining 150-400 vehicles), the first place winner is NationaLease of Kansas City, Kan.; the second place winner is RSD NationaLease, West Lebanon, N.H.; and the third place winner is Fox & James NationaLease, Latrobe, Pa. For the larger division (for affiliates maintaining 400 or more vehicles), the first place winner is Kirk NationaLease, Sidney, Ohio; the second place winner is Tandet NationaLease, Burlington, Ontario; and the third place winner is Airoldi Brothers NationaLease, Milwaukee, Wis. The awards were presented at NationaLease's annual Maintenance Directors Clinic on May 11 in Lincolnshire, Ill. Nearly 90 maintenance directors from across the United States and Canada were in attendance. Each year, a variety of industry-related topics are presented. This year's topics included a discussion on how to contain costs and initiate improvements, led by Terry DiMascio of Aim NationaLease, Girard, Ohio, and Dale Voss of Koch NationaLease, St. Paul, Minn.; the do's and don't's in retaining good employees, led by David Finch, AMI NationaLease, Worcester, Mass.; using strategic partnerships to create solutions for NationaLease affiliates and customers, led by Jack Zolomy of Interstate NationaLease, Albany, Ga.; and analyzing tire cost control issues, led by Tom Vondenhuevel of Kirk NationaLease, Sidney, Ohio. "All of our affilaites take pride in the quality service they provide to not only their customers, but also other affiliates' customers as well," said Bill Ford, NationaLease president. "To receive the Exceptional Service Award is a prestigious honor, and allows our affiliates to receive recognition for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty."
