Acura enjoyed an eighth consecutive month of record-setting sales, reporting an all-time June record of 15,461. That number breaks the previous record of 14,078 set in June 1989 and marks a 23 percent increase over last year, the company announced July 3. Acura's year-to-date sales surged to 84,910 in June, up 25.4 percent over the same period last year. The best-selling 3.2 TL and TL Type-S luxury performance sedans set a new June sales record of 6,616 units, a 10.9 percent increase over June 2000. The continued strong demand brings year-to-date TL sales to 36,075. The all-new MDX luxury sport utility vehicle also continued to increase in popularity, with June sales of 3,301 pushing year-to-date sales to 21,529. "The luxury performance market has been very strong for the last six months," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of sales. "Acura's 2002 models, including the all-new RSX sports coupe will help us on our way to a record year." The Acura RSX sports coupe, the all-new replacement for the Integra, went on sale July 2.
