Porsche Cars North America Inc., the maker of high-performance sports cars, will offer customers a choice of satellite radio from XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. or Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. on 2004 models, according to Chris Gilman, manager of Porsche's U.S. sports utility vehicle project. Porsche expects to offer the service as an option as soon as the broadcasters develop systems to receive a signal from either company, according to Gilman. The equipment will be in place in 2004 or 2005 models, he said. The automaker will offer the service on all models, including the new Cayenne SUV scheduled for late next year, according to Gilman. Porsche is broadening its model lineup in response to European rivals and adding features as U.S. industrywide auto sales decline.
