Thanks to a $45.4 million grant for the U.S. Department of Energy, Eaton Corp. will provide plug-in hybrid electric commercial vehicles to more than 50 utility and municipal fleets nationwide. Eaton will also provide infrastructure for the electrical charging of these vehicles.
After examining the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, NAFA's U.S. Legislative Counsel Patrick O'Connor discovered that through the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act, fleets are eligible for $20,000-$30,000 toward the purchase of each new hybrid medium- or heavy-duty truck.
