All-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is the sixth generation minivan from Chrysler, which re-engineered it from the ground up on an all-new platform. Pacifica replaces the popular, prior generation Chrysler Town & Country.
The recall covers more than 26,000 vehicles, including Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans, Dodge Journey mid-size SUVs, and Ram ProMaster vans.
The Chrysler Pacifica will be powered by a 3.6L Pentastar V-6, while the Pacifica Hybrid will offer up to 80 miles per gallon equivalent in city driving and 30 miles of driving in EV mode.
Two separate recall campaigns, covering 33K light trucks in the U.S., will fix problems that can lead to false warnings from tire pressure monitoring systems.
The recall affects Dodge Journey, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country vehicles.
Agency investigators will determine whether recalls are warranted. An estimated 1.2 million vehicles are involved.
In two separate actions, the automaker will address concerns related to airbags and active head restraints.
Consumers who trade in a competitive product and purchase a 2010 model year Chrysler Town & Country or Dodge Grand Caravan minivan can drive the vehicle risk-free for 60 days.
