Nauto has added a predictive collision alert module to its driver behavior learning platform that is designed to detect imminent collisions.
Some 20% of recorded collisions and 12% of recorded near-collisions in commercial fleets occur at speeds below 5 mph, according to new research from Lytx.
The system warns the driver via sound and display alerts to prompt braking when such a risk is detected, and can help decelerate the vehicle.
The materials include ways to avoid rear-end collisions — one of the most common types of crashes experienced by fleet drivers, teen drivers and the general population.
