Southco expanded its rotary latch portfolio with new versions enabling electronic actuation and providing an electronic door status signal.

These new products offer increased security and access control in rugged environments.

A symmetric design allows the same product to be used in right- or left-hand positions, simplifying integration and inventory management.

Smart Electronic Latches for Enhanced Control and Efficiency

Southco's latest R4-25 product line addresses customer demands for enhanced electronic control and monitoring capabilities in challenging applications. These 12-volt actuators empower users to activate the latch using signals from their control system or a Southco controller.

For seamless wireless operation, the R4-25 works seamlessly with Southco's BluetoothTM controller. Furthermore, an integrated sensor communicates the presence of the door striker, confirming that the door is securely closed.

The R4-25 latches boast a symmetrical design that accommodates both right- and left-hand positions, streamlining stock requirements, expediting assembly, and optimizing inventory management. Moreover, the built-in cable mounting bracket eliminates the need to acquire or design a separate bracket.

Cindy Bart, Southco's Product Manager, explained that the R4-25 rotary latches expand the array of mechanical and electronically operated rotary latches.
