Investor Consortium to Acquire LeasePlan Corp.

The Dutch parent of LeasePlan USA, which is one of the largest global fleet management companies, will be sold to a consortium of investors including pension funds in The Netherlands, Denmark, and Singapore.

Toronto-based Element Financial Corp. has entered an agreement with General Electric to acquire GE Capital's fleet business in the U.S., Mexico, Australia and New Zealand for $6.9 billion.

John “Jack” Leary, president of The Motorlease Corp., a fleet management company headquartered in Farmington, Conn., passed away on April 25. He was 60.



Motorlease Corp. Promotes Two Fleet Execs

Motorlease Corp. has promoted Justin Mesick to controller and Jeffrey Perkins to general manager of fleet operations, the Farmington, Conn.,-based firm has announced.

According to the 2013 Survey of Equipment Finance Activity (SEFA) conducted by the Equipment Leasing & Financing Association, computers and transportation led the way in new business volume in 2012, accounting for more than 50% of transactions.
