During new safety testing involving small overlap frontal crashes by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the organization found that midsize family cars outperformed the luxury models tested.

Of the models IIHS tested, two midsize cars earned the top rating of “good,” 11 earned the “acceptable” rating, three earned “marginal,” and two earned a rating of “poor.” Out of the luxury models, three earned ratings of “good” or “acceptable.”
