Hyundai Motor Co. released new details about its redesigned 2015 model-year Hyundai Genesis full-size sedan on Thursday for a vehicle expected to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

The South Korean automaker touted the vehicle's styling, all-wheel-drive system, safety add-ons, and convenience features.

For the first time since introducing the Genesis in 2008, Hyundai will include an all-wheel drive system. The HTRAC system electronically controls torque split between the front and rear axles depending on road and driving conditions so drivers gain greater stability on slippery roads and in corners. It also allows drivers to toggle driving modes, according to Hyundai.

Passenger safety has been improved with advanced seatbelt functions such as the Emergency Fastening Device system (EFD), which tightly fastens passengers in crashes, and the Pre-Safe seatbelt, which warns of danger tightening the seatbelt in advance.

Hyundai has also improved the Genesis' suspension, by improving lateral stiffness of the front and rear suspensions. The Advanced Traction Cornering Control (ATCC) enables greater stability in corners, according to the automaker.

The newly added Rack-mounted Motor Driven Electric Power Steering (R-MDPS) employs a variable gear ratio to improve high-speed stability and direct response at low and medium speeds.
