Nissan's new NV200 taxi made its debut in New York City in late 2013 following a few regulatory bumps in the road, and is now widely available. The taxi arrives with NV200 guts, as well as added rear seating for four passengers, side windows, and a Lexan partition to shield drivers from rowdy revelers. Nissan has released additional specifications for its NV200 taxi that went into service in New York City in December amid legal controversy that it had been given preferential treatment by the city's taxi commission.
BraunAbility has installed a rear-entry ramp and a new restraint system that’s designed to secure a wheelchair in the NV200 Taxi. Nissan is now calling this van model the Nissan Mobility Taxi.
