Airbiquity, a wireless communications software company, has announced a technology and business partnership with Visteon Corporation, which delivers consumer-driven technology to automotive manufacturers worldwide, to deploy telematics solutions for worldwide automotive and commercial fleet applications. Airbiquity, formerly Integrated Data Communications (IDC), has completed an agreement with Visteon to integrate telematics software into a variety of Visteon products that provide vehicle manufacturers and consumers connectivity while on the road. Airbiquity is a leader in transporting wireless data during the voice conversation in any analog or digital wireless voice network, including CDMA, TDMA, GSM, iDEN, and AMPS. Airbiquity's CDMA implementation for Visteon will support information between the vehicle and commercial service providers. While this implementation requires no upgrades to the existing wireless or landline infrastructures, Airbiquity is certifying its patented technology with several major wireless carriers. The growing relationship between the companies allows Visteon to incorporate Airbiquity's patented software technology into Visteon's telematics control unit (TCU) for future automotive and fleet management telematics programs. This technology -- crucial because it creates the vital digital, wireless data link between the automobile and the service provider during a voice conversation -- enables Visteon to continue to provide its customers with connectivity while in their vehicles. "We are very pleased to be working with Visteon to provide the most competitive solutions to its automotive customers around the world," said Dan Allen, president and CEO of Airbiquity. "Our patented technology provides a flexible, complete and fast-to-market solution that Visteon and its global customers demand." Integration and testing work are being performed at Airbiquity and Visteon technical facilities in the Detroit and Seattle areas. For more information on Airbiquity visit http://www.airbiquity.com.
