Rostra Introduces Comfort Heat and Lumbar Support Systems

July 3, 2002

Rostra Precision Controls, Inc. says it has introduced new features to allow the comfort of heated seats and lower back support to be added to your car with the Comfort Heat Universal Seat Heater and Lumbar Support systems. "Many people aren't even aware that it's possible to add aftermarket seat heaters or a lumbar support system to their vehicles," said Thomas Weiss, Rostra's vice president, automotive electronics group. "These products are easy to install in virtually any car, truck, SUV or minivan, with either leather, vinyl or cloth seat covers." According to the company, the Comfort Heat system offers two means of operation. The standard mode offers a choice of 'low' and 'high' heating zones. The elements supply heat within 60 seconds to both the seat and lower back area, making it ideal for cold weather driving. In any climate, the therapeutic mode allows the user to direct heat only to the lower back, according to Rostra.Even convertible drivers and those who live in warmer climes can enjoy the Comfort Heat system, Weiss added. The company says the Lumbar Support System provides additional support behind the lower back, and allows the driver or passenger to set the amount of support needed for individual comfort. The pneumatic support adjusts on the seat side or center console. "It's a great amenity to have in any type of vehicle, particularly for consumers who drive long distances or spend a lot of time behind the wheel," noted Weiss, adding that it also makes a great gift idea. Rostra claims both the Comfort Heat and Lumbar Support systems install in an hour or less and do not require seat removal. The products each carry a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty and are made entirely in the U.S.A. Rostra offers a special price of $375.00 (installed) for a combination of the seat heater and lumbar support systems. Rostra Precision Controls, headquartered in Laurinburg, North Carolina, is a supplier of vehicle speed control systems, transmission components and vehicle comfort seating systems to the global automotive aftermarket industry. The company also is a manufacturer of electronic controls, systems and components for the original equipment automotive industry. It holds ISO 9001 and QS 9000 certifications.
