Navigation Technologies, a
provider of digital maps, announced July 8 that its Navtech street mapping data
is now available directly through Sagent, a provider of
enterprise business intelligence solutions, as part of Sagent's GeoStan
geocoding technology. According to the companies, this streamlines the evaluation and purchase process
that previously required separate contracts with each company.
"Our customers have been very pleased with the quality of Navtech data, so
we are confident this offering will prove attractive to the market," said John
Siegman, vice president for Centrus Sales at Sagent. "Sagent and Navigation
Technologies have worked together to fully leverage both companies'
technologies in developing a robust solution."
"For our 'Call-Before-You-Dig' program, accurate and detailed map coverage
is critical," said Jeff Stewart, district manager for Infrastructure
Development at AT&T. "Sagent's geocoding solution combined with digital map
data from Navigation Technologies provides us with the results we need. This
solution plays an important role in allowing us to deliver uninterrupted
service to our customers."
"Direct access to this technology through Sagent enhances the capabilities
that both companies bring to the market," said Randy Peterson, vice president
and general manager, Navigation Technologies Corporation.
