Enterprise Fleet Services in Chicago is helping drive a new sales incentive strategy for Enesco Group Inc. of Itasca, Ill., specializing in the giftware, collectible and home décor industry. The program provides an opportunity for sales associates to earn a three-year lease on a company-provided vehicle when they achieve certain performance goals. Enterprise Fleet Services, which serves as a strategic business partner to achieve specific objectives for companies with 15 to 125 vehicles, will begin delivering the new leased vehicles in March to qualified Enesco sales associates. Each vehicle will be covered by one of Enterprise’s maintenance programs, which handle maintenance issues and protect Enesco from having to pay for unnecessary repairs or those that may already be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. “Providing leased company cars as an expense reduction for sales associates is a progressive and unique approach for Enesco, and one that we believe benefits our sales force and our company,” said Josette Goldberg, senior vice president of Human Resources and Administration for Enesco. “Having company cars will enhance our image to our customers, as well as have a positive impact on safety, recruitment, retention and overall productivity.” According to Tom Chelew, corporate vice president for Enterprise Fleet Services, providing a leased company car not only gives a company a competitive advantage in its market niche, it is a tremendous incentive for top performing sales associates. “In addition to rewarding their sales team with a brand new vehicle, Enesco will have the advantage of being served by a professional fleet management company that excels in providing great customer service,” Chelew said. According to Automotive Fleet magazine, Enesco’s decision to offer performance based leased vehicles is consistent with a majority of recent industry studies, which concluded this type of program can be much more cost effective than a reimbursement program that compensate employees for all expenses. In an article entitled “The Hidden Costs of Driver Reimbursement Programs,” Automotive Fleet said “Reimbursement may actually be your most expensive option. Not only that, but it may directly harm your company’s employee productivity and corporate image in the marketplace.” Enesco launched its program at the company’s recent national sales meeting, where Enterprise displayed the full selection of cars and qualifying sales associates ordered their vehicles. Vehicle choices included the Chevy Malibu and Impala, Pontiac Grand Prix, and Saturn Vue. About Enesco Group, Inc.
