Kevin Millar of the Boston Red Sox was invited to spring training in 1995 as a replacement player, after the 1994-95 strike season. Unlike most "scabs," Millar eventually made the Florida Marlins roster. Because he crossed union lines Millar is refused an invitation to be a member of the Major League Baseball's Player's Association. He is given representation during arbitration or other matters and receives pension benefits, but cannot take part in any merchandising that involves major league baseball. That includes any official World Series merchandise and ancillary products such as video games and toys.
