The all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 competes in the mid-size sedan segment, one of the largest segments in North America for both the retail and fleet markets.
The 2015 Chrysler 200 is all-new from the ground up, featuring the industry's first standard 9-speed automatic transmission for a mid-size sedan, which helps maximize overall fuel economy. The 9-speed transmission adds more gear ratios to reduce the frequency of speed changes associated with upshifting and downshifting — fluctuations that decrease fuel economy.
Fleets have a choice of two power-trains: the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine, which produces 295 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque; or the standard 2.4L Multi-Air2 Tigershark I-4 engine, which produces 184 hp and 173 lb.-ft. of torque.
In addition, the 2015 Chrysler 200 is available with an all-wheel drive system, which, according to Chrysler, features a segment-first fully disconnecting rear axle that improves fuel economy by operating in front-wheel drive when all-wheel drive is not needed.
The 2015 Chrysler 200 is available to fleets in four different models: Chrysler 200 LX base model, Chrysler Limited, the performance-oriented Chrysler 200S model, and the premium Chrysler 200C.
The exterior of the Chrysler 200 features an appealing new design and is built on an Alfa Romeo-based chassis. The interior includes a new center console with rotary shift knob that provides full electronic gear shifting, replacing the traditional console shifter. The use of this new rotary knob design has the added benefit of creating additional functional storage space in the center console.
The Chrysler 200 has 60 safety and security features that utilize sensing elements to leverage available ultrasonic, radar, camera, and other technologies for a 360-degree view of the road. Examples of these safety features include:
- Adaptive cruise control-plus, which, under certain circumstances and without driver intervention, can bring the car to a full stop.
- Full-speed forward collision warning-plus, which provides autonomous braking and, under certain circumstances, slows or brings the vehicle to a full stop when a frontal collision appears imminent.
- ParkSense parallel/perpendicular park assist, which uses ultrasonic sensors to guide the driver into parking spaces. According to Chrysler, the perpendicular park assist function is a segment first.
