Q. How can businesses maximize their fuel on the road?

A.Saving money at the pump can simply mean changing a few habits before you get behind the wheel. For example, fixing a vehicle that’s in need of an oil change, air filter change or spark plug replacement can improve mileage by about 4 percent. Reducing a vehicle’s weight by 100 pounds could save 6 cents per gallon. Going 65 miles per hour on the highway instead of 75 cuts fuel use up to 20 percent. A policy of not letting the vehicle idle for more than a minute also saves fuel. Just doing a few of these things can make a big difference in fuel economy.
