According to DaimlerChrysler, consumers across the nation will have an opportunity to not only enjoy, but also drive the finer things in life during the Chrysler Art of Driving national tour kicking off May 3-4 at the historic Lyndhurst Castle outside of New York City. The tour will visit 11 cities through the end of July, including stops in Detroit, Washington, D.C., Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The events will be open to the public free of charge on Saturdays and Sundays. The company says event-goers will be able to drive the Chrysler brand's most recent masterpieces -- the 2004 Chrysler Crossfire and Chrysler Pacifica -- as well as other Chrysler vehicles, on two specially designed tracks. Chrysler experts will be available to provide helpful safety and driving tips. Beyond driving, the events will feature cooking demonstrations with award-winning chefs, golf swing analysis, cigar rolling, wine and food tasting, golf club fittings and spa services. "Art of Driving reaches out to current Chrysler owners, as well as potential customers, allowing them to truly experience the Chrysler brand," said Tom Marinelli, vice president, Chrysler Marketing. "At Chrysler, we understand that considering a vehicle is a lifestyle choice for Chrysler owners. This tour puts consumers in the driver's seat outside of a sales environment, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a range of upscale activities and vehicles that symbolize their good taste," he said. The events will consist of 40 Chrysler vehicles and more than a dozen tents sponsored by leading magazines such as Food & Wine, GQ, Wired, W, House Beautiful, Harper's Bazaar and Esquire. Additionally, attendees will receive free gifts and can register to win a number of sweepstakes and prizes, including tickets to see Celine Dion's Las Vegas show, "A New Day," and an Infinity® home audio system. Hours for Art of Driving will be 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sunday. Drivers must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license to participate in ride-and-drive activities. Activity tents on the Art of Driving tour will include: "Grape & Grain," sponsored by Food & Wine magazine, features cooking demonstrations by one of Food & Wine's Best New Chef contest winners, tips from a Food & Wine editor and complimentary food and beverages. "Body & Blend," sponsored by GQ magazine, features the art and science of cigar rolling with complimentary demonstrations and cigars. "Live & Breathe," a spa tent sponsored by W magazine, features neck and shoulder massages and a refreshing juice bar. "Long & Short," sponsored by Travel & Leisure Golf magazine, features video golf swing analyzers, custom-built putting green, golf club fittings and an appearance by a Callaway professional golfer.
