SmarTire Systems Inc. announced it has strengthened both its Board of Directors and management team with the recruitment of three new additions. Senior advisor to the automotive industry, Johnny Christiansen has been appointed to the Board of Directors. John Taylor-Wilson has been appointed vice president, sales and marketing and Randy Halischuk has joined SmarTire as manager, corporate communications. Johnny Christiansen is the former president and CEO of SensoNor, a Norwegian company that is a provider of tire monitoring, airbag and rollover sensors for the automotive industry. During his tenure at SensoNor, Mr. Christiansen was responsible for contracts totaling over $400M and attaining more than $100M in financing. In addition to expertise in automotive sensors, his 23 year career includes experience in technologies ranging from seismic sensing to marine automation and navigation. Mr. Christiansen holds a BSc degree in Cybernetics. Since 1981, John Taylor-Wilson has held senior positions in technology sales, business development and marketing. Previously he was director, business development and strategic alliances at witness systems, Atlanta where he helped grow the business from $6.5M to $70M in two and a half years; director, business development and business alliances at Nice Systems; and director of marketing at Dees Communications. Mr. Taylor-Wilson has a proven record of success in driving both revenue and profit performance, says the company. Randy Halischuk has over 14 years experience in corporate communications and investor relations for technology-based companies. He was the director of investor relations and marketing communications at Merlin Technologies and held positions in both marketing and investor relations at Infowave Software.
