New recalls cover such models as the Chevrolet Impala, Buick Encore, Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Spark, Pontiac G3 and Chevrolet Aveo.
The automaker announces six new recalls involving such models as the Chevrolet Silverado LD and HD, GMC Sierra LD and HD, Buick Regal, and Chevrolet Caprice PPV. The two largest of the six recalls involve seats.
Six newly announced recalls also include late-model Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans to address a transmission issue.
The models, when equipped with optional autobrake and forward collision warning systems, include the Cadillac ATS sedan and SRX SUV, Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan, Subaru Legacy sedan and Outback wagon, and Volvo S60 sedan and XC60 SUV.
General Motors will introduce the Cadillac ATS compact luxury sports sedan in China in the fourth quarter of 2013.
The ATS was chosen from a field of six finalists in part for its safety, quality, performance and technology.
The award is part of the magazine's annual Auto Excellence Awards, in which 10 vehicles are chosen as the top vehicles for the year.
Cadillac offers three engine choices for the ATS: the 2.0L, the standard 2.5L four-cylinder engine and a 3.6L V-6.
The 2013 Cadillac ATS will be popular among spendthrift fleet buyers with a base model that starts at a hair above $33,000.
Weight was reduced in several features and parts on the vehicle, including an aluminum hood, natural fiber door trim panels and an acoustically laminated windshield.
