For 2014, Chrysler Group said it will offer two “firsts” for the auto industry, a new nine-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive-based 4x4 system with rear-axle disconnect. In addition, the automaker is introducing four new engines, including two diesels.
A year after the Fiat partnership, Chrysler is in the midst of a product offensive.
The all-new engine, which will deliver 280 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 260 pounds-feet, will first be offered in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
