Volkswagen may not resume sales of diesel models in the U.S. and plans to focus on electrified powertrains and SUVs in the coming years, the company's head of North American operations told fleet managers on Sept. 15.

Volkswagen has lowered the price for its Tiguan compact SUV and Touareg mid-size SUV for the 2016 model year by $1,400 and $2,000 respectively, the automaker has announced.
Out of 23 diesel models measured, eight had a total cost of ownership lower than their all-gasoline powered counterparts.
