Aug. 25 Webinar: Build Custom Fleet Tools With AI and Vibe Coding
A new Automotive Fleet webinar explores how fleet managers are using AI and vibe coding to automate routine work and create simple operational tools without traditional programming skills.

Ernie Garcia of Gothic Landscape, Don Schnell, formerly of AT&T fleet, James McKinley of City Rent-A-Truck, and Reed Jackson of Dallas County share how the tools they're creating with vibe coding and the best way to approach this powerful new tool.
Automotive Fleet
Artificial intelligence is giving fleet managers a new way to solve everyday operational problems without waiting for a major technology project or learning how to write software.
Launching Aug. 25, Automotive Fleet’s new webinar, “For Fleet Managers: Build Fleet Tools with AI and Vibe Coding,” will bring together fleet professionals who are already using or experimenting with AI to improve their operations.
Unlike many AI webinars, this conversation is led by fleet managers, for fleet managers. The panel will focus on practical fleet applications rather than abstract technology or theory.
The discussion is moderated by Automotive Fleet’s Chris Brown and features:
- Ernie Garcia, Gothic Landscape
- Reed Jackson, Dallas County
- James McKinley, City Rent-A-Truck
- Don Schnell, formerly of AT&T fleet
From Fleet Problem to Working Tool
“Vibe coding” allows users to describe a desired outcome to an AI platform, then generate and refine a tool without traditional programming skills. For fleets, that could mean automating reports, analyzing costs, creating dashboards or improving other repetitive workflows.
Panelists will share tools they have developed and explain how they selected a problem, built the first version, and improved it through testing.
Understanding the Risks
The session will also cover accuracy, data security and human oversight. Panelists will discuss how to validate AI-generated work, protect sensitive fleet data and determine when IT, cybersecurity, legal or professional development support is needed.
Attendees will leave with ideas for safe, manageable projects they can test without connecting to live fleet systems or exposing sensitive information.
A Preview of the Fleet Forward Conference Workshop
The webinar will also preview “Get Ready to Vibe Code: A Hands-On AI Fleet Workshop,” taking place during the 2026 Fleet Forward Conference.
The in-person workshop will give fleet professionals an opportunity to move beyond the discussion and experience the process of developing an AI-assisted fleet tool firsthand.
The Fleet Forward Conference will be held Oct. 20-22 at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. The event brings together public- and private-sector fleet professionals to examine the technologies and strategies shaping the future of fleet operations.
“For Fleet Managers: Build Fleet Tools with AI and Vibe Coding” will be available on demand beginning Aug. 25. Register for the webinar here.
