The compact electric SUV pairs a 74.7-kWh battery with NACS charging, 338 horsepower, and a starting price of $37,080.

Toyota’s battery-electric C-HR returns for the 2027 model year with standard all-wheel drive, up to 287 miles of manufacturer-estimated range, and access to DC fast charging through a North American Charging Standard port.

The compact electric SUV is expected to begin arriving at Toyota dealerships in September. Pricing starts at $37,080 for the SE grade, excluding the dealer processing and handling fee.

According to a release, Toyota said the vehicle is unchanged from the previous model year.

2027 Toyota C-HR Range and Electric Performance

The C-HR uses electric motors at the front and rear axles to produce a combined 338 horsepower. Toyota estimates it can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Power comes from a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery. The SE grade, equipped with 18-inch wheels, has a manufacturer-estimated range of 287 miles. The XSE grade uses 20-inch wheels and has an estimated range of 273 miles.

NACS Charging and Battery Preconditioning

An 11-kW onboard charger supports AC charging, while the NACS port allows the C-HR to use compatible public DC fast-charging stations. Under ideal conditions, Toyota estimates the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.

The vehicle also supports Plug & Charge at participating charging networks, although the feature requires an active Remote Connect trial or subscription. A standard dual-voltage charging cable can be used with Level 1 and Level 2 power sources.

Battery preconditioning is included to help prepare the battery for faster DC charging. Drivers can activate the system manually or have it activate automatically when a compatible fast-charging station is entered into the navigation system. Automatic activation requires an active Drive Connect trial or subscription.

Drivers can adjust regenerative braking through steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, with four levels of braking power available.

Cargo Space and Technology for Daily Business Use

For businesses considering a compact EV, the C-HR provides up to 59.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the 60/40 split rear seats folded. The vehicle measures 177.9 inches long and includes a power liftgate, low-profile roof rails, dual-zone climate control, rear-seat air vents, and a 1,500-watt AC outlet in the cargo area.

Both SE and XSE models receive a standard 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin also includes two wireless phone chargers and multiple USB-C ports.

The SE grade comes with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers, front and rear parking assistance, and a blind spot monitor. The XSE adds features including synthetic suede and SofTex-trimmed seating, a panoramic view monitor, driver memory settings, lane change assist, and available Traffic Jam Assist.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard on both grades. The suite includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and proactive driving assist.

The C-HR’s electric vehicle components, including the traction battery, are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. ToyotaCare covers scheduled maintenance for one year or 10,000 miles, along with three years of roadside assistance regardless of mileage.
