Nissan is adding a new hybrid option to the compact SUV market with the all-new 2027 Rogue Hybrid, bringing the automaker’s e-POWER technology to the U.S. for the first time.

The new Rogue Hybrid pairs a gasoline engine with a battery and dual electric motors, but unlike a traditional hybrid, the gasoline engine does not directly power the wheels. Instead, it operates as a generator while the electric motors handle propulsion.

For small fleets considering hybrids but not looking to add charging infrastructure, that means drivers can refuel the Rogue Hybrid at a gas station while getting an electric-motor driving experience.

Rogue Hybrid Targets 38 MPG Combined

The Rogue Hybrid uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine tuned for efficiency and quiet operation. Combined system output is 225 horsepower, delivered through dual electric motors.

Nissan estimates fuel economy at up to 40 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 38 mpg combined based on internal testing.

Every Rogue Hybrid comes standard with dual-motor all-wheel drive. The system continuously adjusts torque between the front and rear motors based on traction and driving conditions.

The SUV also includes Nissan’s e-Pedal system, which allows drivers to slow the vehicle to a full stop by lifting off the accelerator. Smooth Stop technology automatically modulates brake pressure near the end of a stop to help reduce abrupt vehicle movement.

Fleet Drivers Get More Standard Technology

A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard across the Rogue Hybrid lineup, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 14.3-inch display with Google built-in and Google Gemini is available on the SR and standard on the Platinum.

Nissan is also making its 15-watt Qi2 magnetic wireless phone charger standard. Driver assistance technology includes an updated version of ProPILOT Assist, with changes to the vehicle’s front radar, camera, and software. Nissan said the updated system is designed to provide smoother lane centering and operate across a wider range of driving conditions.

Available Auto Lane Change can steer the vehicle into an adjacent lane when the driver activates the turn signal and the system determines the lane is clear. Available Hands-Off Traffic Jam Support allows temporary hands-off steering during low-speed congestion on divided highways when ProPILOT Assist is active.

Standard safety technology includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning and Intervention, Lane Departure Warning, and Intelligent Lane Intervention.

More Space and Everyday Usability

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid receives an all-new exterior and interior design, but Nissan also focused on practical touches that could matter for fleets putting the SUV into daily service.

Physical controls remain for frequently used functions such as cabin temperature, fan speed, airflow direction, and heated seats. Designers also enlarged the storage area beneath the front console.

Cargo capacity reaches 31.1 cubic feet behind the second row and 65.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Nissan also made the interior liftgate trim thinner, adding about 1.75 inches of usable cargo length compared with the outgoing Rogue.

Rear doors open nearly 90 degrees, providing wider access to the second row. Nissan also equips the Rogue Hybrid with five LATCH anchors in the rear seat.

2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Pricing

The Rogue Hybrid SR AWD with the SR Technology Package will be the first version to reach dealerships in fall 2026. The SV, SR, and Platinum grades are scheduled to follow in early 2027.

Pricing starts at $35,490 before a $1,575 destination and handling charge.

Nissan has sold nearly 2 million e-POWER-equipped vehicles globally across 68 countries since introducing the technology in 2016. For the U.S.-market Rogue Hybrid, Nissan said the system was specifically tuned for North American speeds, road conditions, and driving preferences.

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid will be assembled at Nissan Motor Kyushu in Japan.
